Never quit

It is often said, “Quitters never win, and winners never quit.” True winning requires endurance, perseverance, patience, and deliberate action. While our physical nature inclines us to avoid discomfort and pain, our spiritual nature reminds us that pain is often the pathway to growth, success, and deeper purpose. Challenges and hardships shape our character, teaching us resilience and trust in God’s plan. To remain steadfast in the face of trials, we must cultivate hope—a hope rooted in faith, which gives us strength to stand firm, move forward, and ultimately triumph.

First Reading Reflection [Rev 15:1-4]

a. God’s mighty works inspire worship: The victorious saints sing of God’s marvellous deeds, reminding us to glorify Him for His power and faithfulness in our lives, especially during challenging times.

b. Faithfulness leads to victory: The vision of those who overcame reminds us that perseverance in faith, even through trials, leads to ultimate victory in Christ. It encourages us to remain steadfast in our commitment to Him.

c. God’s justice calls for trust: The song of the Lamb highlights God’s righteous judgments, inviting us to trust in His divine plan and to live in ways that reflect His justice and holiness.

Responsorial Psalm Reflection [Ps 98]

a. Sing a new song to the Lord: The psalm encourages us to celebrate God’s marvellous deeds with joy and gratitude, reminding us to recognize His ongoing work in our lives and share His goodness with others.

b. Proclaim God’s salvation to all: God’s salvation is for all nations, calling us to be messengers of His love and grace, inviting everyone to experience His transformative power.

c. Rejoice in God’s just rule: The psalm celebrates the Lord’s justice and equity, inspiring us to live with hope, trust in His governance, and strive to reflect His righteousness in our daily actions.

Gospel Reading Reflection [Lk 21:12-19]

a. Faithfulness in persecution: Jesus warns of trials and persecutions but assures us of His presence. This calls us to remain steadfast in faith, trusting Him to strengthen us in moments of difficulty.

b. Witnessing through challenges: Challenges become opportunities to testify to God’s love and truth. We are invited to rely on the Holy Spirit, who provides wisdom and courage to share our faith.

c. Endurance leads to salvation: Jesus emphasizes the importance of perseverance, reminding us that enduring in faith and trust amidst struggles secures the promise of eternal life with Him.
