Abundance mindset

An abundance mindset flows from a heart that trusts in God’s provision, seeks to share His blessings, and remains humble in receiving His favour. Let us live generously, let our light shine, and humbly trust in God’s abundant goodness.

1. Sharing the good we have: generosity reflects God’s abundance

In the first reading, we are called to not withhold good from others when it is within our power to give. An abundance mindset begins with recognizing that all we have is a gift from God, given to us to share with others. When we freely give of our resources – our time, talents, and material wealth – we reflect the abundant generosity of God. Holding back out of fear or selfishness limits not only our blessings but the blessings we can be for others. True abundance flows when we open our hearts to giving, knowing God will continue to provide for us.

2. Light meant to shine: sharing spiritual blessings

In the gospel reading, Jesus tells us that no one lights a lamp and hides it under a jar. The light here symbolizes the gifts of truth, wisdom, and grace that we receive from God. An abundance mindset isn’t only about material wealth but about spiritual riches. We are called to share the light of Christ that we have received with others, illuminating the world around us. The more we share the light, the more it grows and spreads. If we hide our gifts, we diminish not only our own lives but also the lives of others who could benefit from our light.

3. Snowball effect in life: more attracts more

Abundance attracts abundance; scarcity attracts scarcity. Jesus, after warning his disciples to be careful about what goes on within a heart when we beseech in the presence of God, exhorts that a person who has will be given more. The logic behind is the person who is able to make more, has the strategy to make more, and everything falls in place for him / her.
